Proof

Rock gym aftermath. Proof that I occasionally have rough hands.

And another pic from today:
I like how the tiny ice cubes freeze together and form mini icebergs. Even though this happens pretty much every day I still manage to spill ice water on myself all the time when the 'bergs break up.

They say the neon lights are bright, on Broadway.

Well, they're right. I just saw Anything Goes on Broadway with my family tonight. Brings back lots of fun and embarrassing memories from high school...definitely a good show.

They're remodeling one of the apartments in my building and this stove has been sitting here for three days now.

It's everywhere!!!

Here is a wasp's nest of sorts, I believe. Again with the bee thing, and hexagon shape. Also, the overall shape reminds me of Te-has.
Song of the day: A Very Potter Musical ...Act One Part One is just the beginning though, and you should watch them all, because they are awesome.

Hello again, Interwebz.

Its technically spring but cold and sleeting outside. I think staying in and trying to finish off these cookies was a good idea after all. Also, I did not try to make that pile of cookies look like a heart, but they totally do.

Ok, maybe not THE city of lights, but sounds like a fitting name when you look at the glow of Times Square.

Happy Fake St Patrick's Day

Saw this on a building and it made me think of a cross between a frog and a Mexican wrestling mask. I have no idea what it is supposed to mean, but I think that's ok...

Song of the day: Under Pressure by Queen

One loooong day of babysitting.

Made some really delicious potato leek soup tonight. Did I mention it was delicious? ..because it is.
Also, have you ever seen such pretty leeks?

Subtlety

I 've seen this poster every day for months on the staircase in the bus station. I still don't understand what possessed someone to make the edit that they did, but I appreciate the minimalist nature of the graffiti. Who hates having a mind? Weirdos.

Hello Natural History Museum. Yes I promise to come back.

Passed this sign under the Natural History Museum on my way to dinner and got blasted with planetarium memories. I will have to plan a return...

"FUN" study night

This was a night of studying wherein the only fun part was when I played a game called "Whack a Bone". Check it out here: http://anatomyarcade.com/games/WAB/WAB.html and I didn't notice the creepy music until just now. Oh man, that's really somethin'.

I finally got around to making one of those smoothies. And I gotta say, It was definitely worth it. The day is lovely here, the beautiful blue sky lifts my sick-feeling spirits.

The day of Mon

I'm pretty sure I looked like a penguin this morning walking to work on the icy sidewalks with my mittens. You might be able to picture this too. Here's a cool photo of a picnic table.

The only good thing about being sick is remembering how good you had it yesterday.

I ventured out to get some lunch and saw this cool balloon. I love when they are at this hovering stage, not enough helium to make it to the ceiling but just enough to stay afloat. Just hanging out, being a cool balloon.

Happy Birthday Lauren!

Say hello to Lauren's cat Ozzie. I don't even like cats but this one is ok in my book, thanks to his dog-like attitude.

Happy Birthday Mater!

This isn't a very meaningful picture, I just though these oil and vinegar cruets were cool.

Today's song isn't meaningful either, but I like it anyway: A Million Ways by OK Go

The perfect compliment to my morning snooze session is always the snowblower right outside my bedroom window.

"There you go, having fun at work again."  As I run in circles around this tree to create a pattern with my footprints, while we are on a meter collection route. This is the life.

Dance to this one: Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Michael Bublé

1.5 hours late for work? There's still time for breakfast.

I love these little breakfast carts in the city. I used to walk by them every day, now I only do when something goes wrong on my commute like today. $2 for a large coffee and a bagel. Not bad.

Song of the day: Is It Any Wonder by Keane

It's a brisk but beautiful morning here in Iowa.

February 24th just seemed like a great day to start riding my bike to work again.

Thank you Mr President(s) for the day off.

This is how I spent my day, making myself sick with awesome greasy hamburgers. This place is pretty awesome, especially because it is virtually unchanged since its introduction in the 1937 World's Fair.

I'm pretty sure I already know you like my song of the day, Victoria. I hope you enjoy hearing it again: Naked As We Came by Iron & Wine

It was a run by fruiting!

This is among the most pathetic fruit bowls I've ever seen: an apple, three lemons, and an onion. At least Giuseppe won't get scurvy...
